Document Authentication System (DAS) among Asian Innovation Awards 2007 finalists

Document Authentication System (DAS) from HP Labs India was one of the 12 finalists from 265 entries to the Asian Innovation Awards 2007. The Wall Street Journal Asia presents the awards to individuals or companies that improve the quality of life, the environment or productivity.

The DAS uses two dimensional (2D) barcode in a networked environment to authenticate paper documents.

Manthan award for Lipi toolkit

Lipi Toolkit from HP Labs India won a Manthan award for 2007 in the e-localization category. Lipi Toolkit (LipiTk) is a generic toolkit for online Handwriting Recognition (HWR) and packages HWR tools and algorithms with standard ink representations and HWR application interfaces. It is available as open source software that can be customized and extended.

The Manthan Awards are held annually by the Digital Empowerment Foundation. The awards for 2007 were given on September 21-22 at New Delhi.

Gesture Keyboard one of the seven honored among 150 entries to the NASSCOM award, 2007

Gesture Keyboard (GKB) was one of seven technologies honored among 150 entries for the NASSCOM award in February 2007.

The GKB is a pen-based, low-cost device that can be used to input text with phonetic scripts used in Indian languages.

Gesture Keyboard was the runner-up of the prestigious Wall Street Journal's 2006 Technology Innovation Award, 2007

Gesture Keyboard (GKB) was the runner-up of the prestigious Wall Street Journal's 2006 Technology Innovation Award in the Consumer Electronics section. To quote the judges: "The device had the potential to reach areas of the Indian population neglected by the computer boom".
