Since its establishment in November 2005, most of the research at HP Labs China has been in collaboration with Chinese academic research organizations, which allows HP to access to the best research minds in the country.
To align with HP Labs' open innovation model, HP Labs China has built active collaborative research engagements with a number of universities including Tsinghua University, Peking University, RenMin University, Beihang University, Fudan University, etc.
Call for Proposals for the HP Labs Innovation Research Program
The HP Labs Innovation Research Program is designed to create opportunities -- at colleges, universities and research institutes around the world -- for breakthrough collaborative research with HP. It provides project funding for one year in the USD $30,000 to $100,000 range to each academic institution and is renewable for a total of three years based on research progress and HP business requirements. In 2008, two universities from China received HP Labs Innovation Research Awards:
Peking University
Tsinghua University
The next request for proposals is planned for spring 2009. Universities interested in submitting proposals can get more information about HP Labs Innovation Research Program.
