Abstract: Can the media industry profitably use peer-to-peer networks to increase their market? We propose a novel media distribution system called FluidMedia that potentially answers this question. FluidMedia provides a framework within which users can trade in media copyrights legally and remunerate the media provider for these. Furthermore, users are actually encouraged to engage in such trade through economic incentives.
