Modelling, Characterisation and Performance of the Home Phoneline Network

Abstract: We present experimental results characterising the home phoneline network, and a model which allows both time and frequency domain representations. Using these results we provide performance measurements for the HomePNA version 1.0 technology on the specified HomePNA test network, and show that under particular channel conditions the performance of the system can be seriously degraded.
