Ping Mei engages in research associated with large-area microelectronics for future display, sensing, and imaging applications. Her work has included developing low temperature materials, semiconductor device structures, and low cost processing techniques to enable fabrications of arrays of active devices and circuits over large substrates.

Her recent interests are focused on building thin film devices on flexible substrates.  This effort aims to the deployment of roll-to-roll fabrication of self-aligned thin film transistor backplanes for low cost display application.
