Wee is also editor of the JPSEC amendment on file format security, an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology and was an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Image Processing.
Wee's current work is focused on media security technology. She and her team - based in the U.S., England and Japan perform research in next-generation face-to-face collaboration, next-generation gaming experiences and technologies, mobile video, and HP Mediascapes, which are context-aware multimedia experiences.
In addition to her job as lab director, Wee is a consulting assistant professor at Stanford University, where she co-teaches a graduate-level course on digital video processing. Her research has been published in 50 international publications, and she has more than 25 granted patents and over 25 pending patents.
In 2002, she was chosen as one of the world's 100 top young innovators by Technology Review, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Magazine of Innovation.
Wee earned bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees at MIT before joining HP Labs in 1996.
