Biography
Dr. Yan Zhao is a research scientist in Commercial Print Engine Lab of HP Labs. Before joining HP, he was a research associate in the Truhlar group, Department of Chemistry, University of Minnesota. He received a B.A. from Fudan University in 1993, and a M.E. from Sichuan University in 1996. His research in China is in the areas of materials, polymer, and surface chemistry. He had solid experience in polymer synthesis and surface modification of pigments. Dr. Zhao is a co-inventor of Chinese patent. In 2005, he received a Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Zhao has developed new benchmark databases, new density functional models, and new scientific computer programs. These databases, DFT models, and computer programs have been widely used by many national/international researchers in the community of computational and theoretical chemistry. Dr Zhao has published 50+ scientific articles in computational and theoretical chemistry, and many of Dr. Zhao's papers have received recognition as hot articles and/or highly-cited articles in theoretical and computational chemistry. Dr. Zhao has an h-index of 27.
