Biography

Serene Banerjee is a Senior Research Scientist at HP Labs, India,  as a part of the Paper Based Interaction project, initiated by Dr. Anjaneyulu Kuchibhotla This is a Non-HP site. Prior to joining HP Labs, India, she worked on image/video processing algorithms in Texas Instruments, India, Inc. and Intel, Inc.

She received her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering This is a Non-HP site from the University of Texas at Austin This is a Non-HP site in 2004, under Prof. Brian L. Evans This is a Non-HP site. Her dissertation was on composition guided image acquisition for digital still cameras This is a Non-HP site. She finished her Masters in Electrical Engineering This is a Non-HP site from the University of Texas at Austin This is a Non-HP site in 2001, and her B. Tech (H) from Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering This is a Non-HP site from IIT Kharagpur This is a Non-HP site, India, in 1999. She is a member of the IEEE This is a Non-HP site.

On the personal front, she is married to Dr. Bipul Das, Lab Manager, GE Research, since 2005, following a seven year chase. They were blessed with Ekarshi Shambo in 2007, and Satyarshi Shambo in 2009.
