Biography

Markus is an Expert with the Cloud and Security Lab, HP Labs Singapore. His R&D interests include Big Data Management, Data Analytics, Data Provenance, Explorative Data Visualisation, and Privacy & Trust.

Markus joined HP Labs Singapore in late November 2010 and also holds an Adjunct Assistant Professor position with the Department of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Prior to joining HP Labs, Markus worked as Research Fellow and Principal Investigator at the Institute for Infocomm Research, A*STAR in Singapore (2007 -- 2010) and Lecturer at Massey University in New Zealand (2000 -- 2007). His previous R&D interests included Data Caching, Database Programming Languages, Large-scale Distributed Systems, Object-oriented Databases, and Transaction Processing.

Markus received his Ph.D. from Massey University in New Zealand and his Master of Sciences in Computer Science from Clausthal University in Germany.

 

Research interests

Big Data Management, Data Analytics, Data Provenance, Explorative Data Visualisation, and Privacy & Trust (Accountability and Transparency in the Cloud).
