Biography

Margaret Sturgill is currently a Research Scientist with HP Labs working on mobile authentication services. She started her career at Hewlett-Packard in the Greeley Hard Copy division, working on HP Scanner Software. 1997 to 2005 Margaret left HP to become a Chief Operating Officer of Ataman Software Inc. small ISV specializing in Windows communication software. She joined HP Labs in 2005 to work on image-based forensics.

Margaret has a PhD in Computer Science from University of Utah and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from University of Kentucky.

 

Research interests

  • Mobile System-based deterent authentication.
  • Document Processing - alternate ground truthing approaches.
  • Image-based forensics.
  • Document classification.
