Biography

Dr. Yan Gu is a Researcher from the Cloud and Security Lab, HP Labs Singapore.
She got her Ph.D. degree from Deptment of Computer Science, National University of Singapore, 2008. Her thesis mainly focuses on the design and implementation of different power management techniques targeted towards graphics-intensive 3D games on portable devices, such as laptop, handphone and PDA. Apart from the work in her Ph.D. thesis, Yan has also worked and published in the area of multimedia streaming. From 2000 to 2001, she engaged in the development of real-time graphics rendering algorithms for Xbox games during the internship in Microsoft Research, Asia.
Prior to beginning her work with HP Labs, Singapore, Yan has worked in several industry R&D centers as a senior staff. Her resposibility was mainly to model or design cross-compilers for various software systems.
