Deploying a Model-Based Diagnosis System in the Manufacturing Test Environment

Abstract: In this paper, we describe the deployment of a prototype model-based diagnostic system, JADE, in a manufacturing test process at Hewlett-Packard's Grenoble Personal Computer Division (GPCD), one of the divisions responsible for manufacturing Hewlett-Packard's PC products. Development of the prototype was carried out at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, Bristol, and has subsequently been further developed to become the Hewlett-Packard Fault Detective product.
