Abstract: We address how the large and diverse high value services market can be encouraged to come into being exploiting digital methods as its prime method of communication and value generation. The challenges that need to be met to develop basic technologies for constructing and managing dynamic, networked services, alongside the economic and social understanding that will enable efficient service markets to come into existence are outlined.
