Biography
Junqing XIE is now a research scientist of HP Labs China. Before joining HP Labs China, he was an advisory engineer with the Alcatel-Lucent CDMA R&D department in China, where his research focus was on software architecture for CDMA base stations. During his 10 year tenure with Bell Labs Research China since 2001, he also worked on research projects including the IPv6 edge router, on voice messaging systems, and on the ubiquitous instant messaging system. During year 2005 to 2007, he was a member of the Arno project within the Alcatel-Lucent Ventures unit, which ultimately developed the Alcatel-Lucent 5130 Geographic Messaging Services Platform (GMSP) product. Following that, he returned to Bell Labs to focus on research projects around the unified location service and carrier grade web service testing tools. His major fields of expertise include IP routing, system engineering, architecture engineering, converged applications, and CDMA 2000.
Junqing XIE received his Ph.D. degrees in computer science from Southeast University in Nanjing, China in year 2000. He has published 15 papers in journals and conferences, and also has filed three patents. While he was with Alcatel-Lucent, he was a member of the Alcatel-Lucent Technical Academy (ALTA).
