Biography

Filippo is a researcher at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories in Singapore where he is contributing to the innovation of cloud platform infrastructures. Prior to that, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Illinois where he was involved in parallel computing, working both on middleware platforms (Charm++ Runtime System This is a Non-HP site in particular) and on application development (in particular the ChaNGa cosmological simulator).

Filippo obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science in 2010 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a dissertation on debugging techniques for parallel applications on large supercomputers. Prior to that, in 2002, he obtained his Laurea degree in Computer Science and Engineering with high honours from the University of Padova. Since 2000, he is also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and of the IEEE Computer Society.
