Biography

George Goh is a Research Engineer in the Applied Cloud Computing Lab of Hewlett Packard Laboratories, Singapore. His work at the Labs includes the design and development of mobile-cloud platforms and infrastructure.

Previously a senior developer at Platform Computing Inc., George was part of the core team developing Project Kusu, an open source cluster provisioning and management project. He was the primary maintainer of the disk management module and contributed to the evolution of the "kits" concept of managing software bundles across multiple Linux distributions. Project Kusu has also been adapted by Univa Inc. to form their Unicluster offering.

In 2006, George architected and developed the "MobileVisLab" for the National University of Singapore(NUS), a system that allows remote access to the university's collaborative scientific modeling and visualization resources using offsite thin clients. This system helped the NUS Supercomputing and Visualization Unit(SVU) win a Merit award at the NUS Quality Service Day 2007/2008.

He was a member of the winning team of code::xtremeapps::2009, a nationwide, 24-hour programming competition and has also appeared in the Singapore Straits Times as a recipient of the "Singapore's 50 Successful Developers" award in 2009.

George received his Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Hull in England in 2002, and received his Master of Technology in Software Engineering from National University of Singapore in 2010.
