The Memory-Based File System
Flash memory can be used to store
- compressed kernel
- compressed ramdisks
- uncompressed file systems
When Itsy V2 boots
- kernel decompressed into DRAM (~300KB to ~1M)
- ramdisk (root fs) decompressed into DRAM (~2MB to ~6M)
Flash file system
- can be used as primary or secondary memory
- flexibility enables rapid application development
